Well worth the money January 24, 2010 Kat Howe (UK) 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
I purchased this as a christmas present for my 6 year old and 3 year old. I was a bit reluctant to spend this much money on the item but Amozon was the cheapest and all the shops had sold out and christmas was approaching fast.
Anyway the camera is very strong and just the right size for little hands, my 6 year old can play all the games and look back at the pictures with ease but the 3 year old hasn't mastered that but is happy to take the pictures.
I was very surprised to see the kids had taken just over 1000 pictures with no need for an extra memory card.
We have not linked it to the tv or put the pictures on the computer yet but so far very impressed..
Pictures are good quality and we have giggled lots when looking back at the pictures they have taken.
Also a Great gift for a younger child January 20, 2010 Gerry's thoughts 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
As his older sister has a similar camera, we decided to buy this for our boy for Christmas. He's only three years old, but loves it. It is so easy to use that in next to no time he was taking pictures and enjoying the several games that come in built. With help, he now knows how to edit and 'enhance' the photos using the included software and the camera appears to be robust. This version has better light capturing and flash than the previous model, so I have no hesitation in recommending it as being suitable for an inquisitive child of similar age or older. I'm sure they'll get as much pleasure out of it as our son has.
point and click January 9, 2010 mac fiend (uk) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
Bought this for my 3yo this Christmas. He loved taking photos using my camera and my mobile or indeed any camera he could get his hands on so it seemed obvious to buy him his own. Initially put off by the price of this but having considered the cheap digital camera option decided he's only three, let him have some fun.
Am delighted with it, read lots of reviews so wasn't worried about the quality of images just want him to be confident to click away at what he wants. If any turn out to be printable that's great, if not he's had fun using it. It also features some games and lots of different effects that he is still discovering and enjoying and that is all that matters. He has other toys for educational needs etc but this teaches him sociability i.e he is not shy to ask someone to pose and smile, it also helps with coordination, composition etc etc and it really is great that he can drop it and so far it is still in one piece.
He's not the official family photographer yet but in time I suspect he will be! Then he can move onto a more 'grown-up' camera.
Great first camera January 10, 2010 alice3276 (UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Very pleased with this camera. Ours is the newer model Kidizoom plus. Both my children (age 6 and 3) are loving it. It works fine with rechargeable batteries (we are using 4 x Energizer rechargeable 2450mA ones). We haven't needed to look at the instructions - it is very easy to use. Some tips to prolong battery life: turn off the sound; turn off effects whilst reviewing photos; insert an SD card and save all photos to there - then just insert the SD card into a slot on your PC if it has one. That way you don't waste battery transferring photos. Icons and controls are similar enough to a "grown up" camera to make it a great way of learning the basics of digital photography.
Snap happy February 16, 2010 Norfolk Nanny 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great toy - provides lots of fun at the basic level with potential for growth and learning at the next stage: downloading to a computer. My grandson, 3.5 years, loved this at Christmas and was able to see real 'snaps' on his own camera. Even my grand-daughter who is only 1.5 years has the hang of it. Is is durable? Well, with those two fighting over it, I would definitely say yes! I have no hesitation in recommending this product.
